Pigtails & Pirates ~ Pop Art Princess skirt review!

Pigtails&Pirates Pop Art Princess Skirt popartskirt

From a young age I have always loved Pop Art  and when I saw Newcastle based designer Pigtails & Pirates had a circle skirt made from an amazing pop art print it immediately went on my wish list!

I’ve been a fan of Pigtails and Pirates for about two years from when I first purchased a Flamingo Print dress from Miskonduct Klothing. Laura the proprietrer is an amazing sewer with an eye for beautiful and eye catching prints.

I’ve had the pleasure of modelling some of Pigtails & Pirates gorgeous dresses in the past and I feel her designs are flattering on all shapes, sizes and ages.

The Pop Art Princess skirt is a full circle skirt and sits just below my knees. I wore a 21inch standard length petticoat underneath and could have worn two for extra fullness.

For the photos I wore a plain black top so not to distract from the skirt however I think you could pair this skirt with a variety of colours and it would work great!

I have a 28inch waist and went with the size 10. It’s slightly loose but I prefer that than being too tight. In Pigtails and Pirates dresses I am a size 8.

The skirt retails for $110 which I think is reasonably priced considering the quality of the fabric and the amount of labour involved. The skirt is currently being made to order and you can purchase online at ~

It’s great to be able to support an Australian small business run by a lovely lady!
